Alexandra Holiday Park is situated on a sheltered terraced area on the banks of the Manuherikia River. The town centre of Alexandra is just a short 1 km awe-inspiring walk along the riverside walkway. Generations of campers have flocked to the park over many years – as it is renowned for its family friendly atmosphere.
The park offers tent sites, power sites, standard cabins, self-contained units, and Group accommodation sleeping up to 29 people.
Park amenities include; communal park kitchens with fridges, laundry and shower / toilet blocks, linen hire, TV lounge with the sky network, internet kiosk & wireless internet, plenty of off street parking (limits apply at peak times) and children’s playground and river swimming. A Park Store is open over the Christmas / New Year period only. The park is open year round, and offers warm cosy central heated ablution blocks (kitchen, showers etc) over the cooler winter months.
Alexandra Holiday Park is ideally located for many recreational activities – including cycling and walking, with the Rail Trail only meters away, and a selection of other trails close by. Swimming is possible in the Manuherikia River, and at the Molyneux Aquatic centre. For those wanting to enjoy boating, fishing or water sports, both Lake Roxburgh, and nearby Lake Dunstan are just a short drive. The Alexandra Basin also has a number of wineries to visit and orchards for fresh fruit.
Whatever your reason for visiting Central Otago – the Alexandra Holiday Park (Hour Place) is a great place to base yourself, being approx. 1 hour drives to/from Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka, Hawea, Ranfurly & Naseby.
