Lake Dunstan Cycle Challenge

96kms of generally flat road cycling around Lake Dunstan in early January, this is the way to see the countryside and enjoy your little taste of road touring. Get in a bunch and get sucked along the country roads; maybe you’ll compete in the front peloton or find your own buddies to cover the distance with.

Starting at the Cromwell Sports Club, the field is held in neutral until you are over the bridge and heading north to Bendigo, left turn onto SH8A to Luggate, through Queensberry, Lowburn and back into Cromwell. Marshalls on the course warn riders of hazards; but riders have to be alert to the holiday mode traffic on the public roads, especially at the one way Luggate Bridge. One thing that can be guaranteed is that you will get a head wind somewhere on the circuit.

Dig deep and enjoy the satisfaction of a great ride in the company of a couple of hundred like minded road cyclists.
