Clutha Gold Trail | Trail Tags & Passports

Eight years in the making, the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold cycling and walking trails play a large part in our region's visitor experience, and the recreation and health experience of Central Otago residents.

Maintenance Tags

Created with the generous support of landowners and volunteers, the trails continue to be managed by volunteers whose vision it is that all users will contribute to ongoing maintenance and upgrades by purchasing a trail tag.

Individual Trail Tag: $25, valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Family Trail Tag: $50, valid for 12 months from date of purchase and includes parents, grandparents and children from the same family.

Day Trail Tag: $10, valid for one day on the trail.

Tags are individually numbered, are a different colour each year, and can be attached to your bike or your bag for walking.

Souvenir Passports

Beautifully designed and produced, our trail passports are a great memento of your trip. Each 24-page passport contains maps highlighting each trail's special characteristics and an interesting commentary of heritage sites and geological features. There is room for notes and drawings, as well as space to collect 'pencil rubbings' at eight rubbing stations along the way. That's a lot of activity for just $15!
