Central Otago Traffic Volumes

Transit NZ records traffic flow volumes at various state highway locations throughout Central Otago.

(source: NZTA)

AADT equals the estimate of daily traffic (2-way) averaged over a calendar year

Traffic flow numbers are the combined effect of visitors, commercial traffic and resident traffic.

The data suggests that traffic flows have only had small changes on the major routes through the district. It is interesting that the traffic numbers have increased quite  significantly in the Maniototo.

To put these traffic counts into perspective, the AADT for the Auckland Harbour Bridge is 158,000!
