TRADE PRODUCT DIRECTORY - Fact and Rate Sheet Updates - due 20th January

TCO produces a digital product directory that is used as a resource when presenting Central Otago travel trade. Operators with trade-ready commissionable products have their fact sheets attached included in the presentation and made available to Inbound Tour Operators and Wholesalers. Operators with trade-ready commissionable product should provide TCO with their updated ‘Fact and Rate Sheets’ and new photos detailing product offerings and pricing by Friday, 20 January 2017.

Wholesalers have advised that they are in the process of preparing their 2017/18 Summer Tour brochures and immediately following will be their Winter 2018 brochures. They're looking for rates through to the end of September 2018. As we want to provide you with every opportunity to be considered by a wholesaler, please up-date your rate sheets through to 30 September 2018 and send these, with any new images, to Andrea Lauder by 20th January 2017.

TCO actively promotes Central Otago to visitors through both the domestic and international travel trade channels.

We educate the global travel trade, inbound operators, wholesalers and retail agents on the many activities and attractions available to provide their clients with a memorable stay in Central Otago.

TCO works collaboratively with Tourism New Zealand and neighbouring Regional Tourism Organisations when the opportunity arrives.

TRADE EVENTS

TCO showcases Central Otago at the annual TRENZ trade show. This show brings many important decision makers in the trade together, along with regional promoters and participating operators.

TCO also makes ‘sales’ calls to targeted inbound and wholesale operators who handle a large proportion of the visitor numbers in New Zealand. We participate in additional trade events with other RTO’s (generally held in Sydney and Auckland) when the event is a good fit with our visitor markets. Other activities include participating in Tourism New Zealand trade training events in Australia.

AGENT FAMILIARISATIONS

Another important aspect of our trade activity is hosting agent ‘famil’ (familiarisation) visits to our region. By bringing agents here they can experience the beauty of our region and our unique activities for themselves. These famils are often organised in conjunction with Tourism New Zealand or sometimes by the agents themselves to facilitate staff education.
