EAT.TASTE.CENTRAL

The second edition of Eat.Taste.Central is going well and it’s been great to hear positive reports from venues and customers (even some wanting to lick plates clean). The E.T.C campaign and People’s Choice voting will run through until the end of Labour weekend – so please encourage your visitors to get out, sample the dishes and vote!  An ODT feature on E.T.C was published this weekend and we hope this encourages even more people to visit and try the competition dishes.

If you require any additional maps or information please contact Antz (anthony.longman@codc.govt.nz) or drop into your local i-SITE.

LOCALS WEEKEND

The i-SITES 'Mates Rates' for locals is on again this weekend 13 – 14 October. Don’t miss out on some great deals on a range of visitor activities only available to locals for this one weekend. Check out the offers here.

SPRING CHALLENGE - SEPTEMBER 2019

TCO have been working with Ten Events the organisers of the annual all women’s ‘Spring Challenge’ adventure race that will be hosted in Cromwell in late September 2019 the venue was kept secret until the announcement at the awards ceremony for this year’s event in Westport.  Thanks to the support of the Cromwell Community Board for helping Cromwell to attract the event.

The Spring Challenge event attracts 1350 participants (excluding supporters) and the 2019 field sold out within 2 hours of registration opening on the 1st of October. This will be an extremely busy weekend for the whole of Central Otago, as it will coincide with Blossom Festival and the start of the school holidays – so is definitely one to mark on your calendars.

AUCKLAND AND QUEENSTOWN MARATHON EXPOS

Late this month will see Tourism Central Otago (TCO) exhibit for the first time at the Auckland Marathon (26/27 Oct) and Queenstown Marathon (15/16 Nov).

The audience at these events ticks several boxes in our new visitor personas. Including those seeking to escape and relax from their busy worklife (the Angela's), to find personal challenge & achievement (the Nick's) and those seeking a bonding experience (the Helen's).

NEW REGIONAL MAP

We are currently developing a new-look regional map and brochure to tie in with the new brand positioning for Central Otago. This map will be a tool for highlighting the how and why to travel to and through Central Otago. It will replace the traditional format visitor guide and we aim to have this new piece printed and distributed prior to Christmas.
