My parents owned Wild Central Otago Honey (Nekta Klektaz Ltd) for over 10 years. They come from a horticultural background, having previously owned an apricot orchard, on Cornish Point, Cromwell. I have always had an interest in beekeeping, and took the business over from my parents in 2013. Wild Central Otago hives are carefully placed throughout Central Otago and Northern Southland to bring you some of the best honey there is. Wild Central Otago produce Creamed Clover, both Creamed and Liquid Wild Thyme, and Liquid Vipers Bugloss (depending on season), their signature honey. Thyme honey - unique to Central Otago contains antiseptic and has the highest antioxidant qualities than other honey. It is used: – as a poultice for wounds, to prevent infection. – to cover burns and scalds – to treat sore throats due to colds or flu Our honey is raw and has not been heat treated.
