Tasting Room - Maori Point Vineyard

Maori Point is named for the group of Maori goldminers who, in the 1860s, sluiced the east bank of the Clutha River near the town of Tarras. Our vineyard runs from Maori Point Road to the riverbank, where visitors are welcome to fish, picnic, or take a riverside walk in this spectacular setting, ringed by mountain ranges.

For visitors who wish to try our wines, our Tasting Room is open 11am – 5pm, and is often staffed by one of our winemakers. Wines are made on site, hand-crafted in our winery. Our speciality, Pinot Noir, is made in multiple small ferments, allowing each part of the vineyard to be harvested at its optimal time. We use natural ferments so that our wines can fully express their terroir.

Our Gold Digger is a lightly sparkling Pinot Gris made in the Prosecco style, perfect for summer drinking. We also make a full-flavoured Pinot Noir Rosé, a fragrant and aromatic Pinot Gris, a delicious Riesling and other speciality wines, most available only at the vineyard. Visit us to talk directly with the winemakers and to find award-winning wines that are made in small quantities and often not available elsewhere.

Tastings are free of charge. By arrangement, we can accept small groups and provide light snacks to go with the wines.

Picnic tables are available near the tasting room and on the river-bank. Campervans can book through OK2Stay
