The Auditorium entrance is on Scotland St The Roxburgh Town Hall is located at the 'back' with access from an alleyway off Scotland Street or an entrance from Jedburgh St where there is an off street carpark.
The facility comprises a 258 seat auditorium, ticketbox and 'Nook' facility and toilets in the foyer. Stage and movie screen, projection room and backstage, dressing rooms, a hollywood type makeup area and storage areas.
Located to the rear of the building is the recently upgraded Town hall (accommodating up to 300 people), the supper room, kitchen and toilets.
The auditorium facility is used as a Cinema, (possible to become the oldest purpose built in the world with an official 'Claim' from Guinness Book of Records), regularly used for community functions such as weddings and funerals, for School shows and Prizegivings. Local groups bring many entertaining Comedy and Musical Shows 'on the Road'.
The Roxburgh Entertainment Centre Improvement and Promotions Inc. group operates the movie facility and are a very active group.
The new Digital technology that they raised funds for ($97k), is now in operation. 'REC Impro Group' are volunteers who fundraise with movie screenings each weekend and periodically thru the week of school holidays.
Because the movie team consists of volunteers, they ask to try and 'Be There When We're There'.
Funds go directly into any promotions or improvements the committee choose for upgrade of the facility. A 15 seat boutique cinema aka The Attic, is almost completed.
Roxburgh Entertainment Centre is owned by the Central Otago District Council and pamphlets on the facility can be found in the Central Otago Visitor Information Centres.
